On Saturday, September 29, Prep For Prep hosted the 40th Anniversary Alumni Summit at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem.
The "Leaders Don't Just Happen" Entrepreneurship Panel was the first event of the day and was streamed live to alums who couldn't attend in person.
Angelina Darrisaw Cheeks served as both a panelist and moderator. The other panelists were prominent business owners and prep alums.
Kareem Cook (VI), Owner & Chief Marketing Officer, Naturade
Karen Tappin (IX), CEO, Karen's Body Beautiful
Ryan Williams (LA I), Founder, Cadre
Angela Yee (IX), Radio Show Co-Host of “The Breakfast Club” and Owner of Juices for Life
The dynamic conversation included themes such as the value of partnership, how to give back when early in business, the pros and cons of running a storefront, branding in a competitive marketplace and how to seek funding.
All photos were captured by Nick Velazquez, who is also a proud Prep Alum.
